NO finger gap.

2. TUMMY LENGTH - (Under belly)

This measurement is just behind the inner front leg to the inner back leg, while they are in the standing position if possible otherwise laying on their side.

3. GIRTH

Measure just behind the two front inner legs around your cats tummy. (this is the approximate FINISHED SIZE that the jacket will come to you in. This needs to be a snug fit, but also a comfortable fit.

4. BACK WIDTH - (Shoulder area)

Looking down at the back of your cat, measure across the width of upper back area, (across the shoulder area) without going down the sides of the front legs  You can scroll to the bottom of this page for an example image.

This is the approximate finished size of the width of the jacket in this area.

5 & 6 BACK  LENGTHS

TWO MEASUREMENT POSITIONS

(Base of neck to base of tail)

Measure from the base of the neck, (just below the scull), all the way down to where their tail just begins (not where it ends).

Take this measurement with your cat  in the sitting position and in the standing position.

IMPORTANT CRITICAL STEP

Please carefully follow the next critical step below for adult cats.

DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.

Please complete  this next step to confirm you have measured correctly. Please cut a piece of old material to the measurement you measured for the girth and then wrap this around your cat’s girth.

Read the example below on how to do this.

EXAMPLE

If you have an adult cat that measured 40 cm around the girth using your tape. Do the following.

  • Original and Adjustable designs. Cut a length of material 40cm x 12cm.

  • Hybrid design. Cut a length of material 40cm x 6 cm

When you wrap this around your cat, it must be wrapped around the area just behind its inner FRONT leg area. The two ends must  meet up together, NOT overlap.

DO NOT wrap around the area where their primordial pouch sits, which is lower down on their belly.
